EXCERPT
The weary writer has langered too long from
the quill that quakes attempting
to express the rambling
plummeting expressions of the soul.
Like hummingbird wings moving
to achieve buoyancy.
Like a frightened
child shuddering in the dark
almost frozen with indecisiveness.
As a wanderer lost in a maze of tunnels with
each having its own experience…
Almost crushed and bruised by the weight of this juncture.
Eyes streaming
with tears only visible from within.
Heart dashed and torn on the
jagged gnarled edges of life.
The mind
is dazed and weary.
Oh to drift in a flowing field of daffodils and daisies.
Count soft marshmallow clouds chasing
about.
But a weariness slithers silhouetted in
the dark recesses of the mind.
A silent cry lodges in the
throat with
shoulders sloughing in sighs.
Were is the music of melodies.
Burning bruised eyes.
