How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel and
Land on Your Feet Vol.II

Ten Women . Ten Chapters . Ten Stories

Foreword

If you are on a quest to finding peace in your life, are seeking motivation, searching for serenity, or simply enjoy reading inspirational stories, this anthology promises to enlighten and inspire you. How to Jump from a Ferris Wheel and Land on Your Feet, Vol. II contains liberating stories that will take you on a magnificent journey from trial to triumph.

I believe that peace and happiness is a state of mind and that we all have the ability to sustain a peace of mind in the midst of the worst storms. How to Jump from a Ferris Wheel and Land on Your Feet, Vol. II contains ten moving stories by ten extraordinary women from different walks of life who have all, at one point, asked themselves, "Why me?"

Follow them on their journeys as they share their incredible tales of adversity. And, learn how they reached their destinations of serenity and peace. The obstacles that each woman faced was very different, yet very much the same. You'll be moved by the challenges and triumphs these authors share about their respective roads to victory.
Blessings,
Yvonne Pierre

Miriam "Mimi" Jacobs is an author, poet, and professional speaker. Prior to this, Mimi was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 21 years.

Miriam showed an early aptitude and love for creating, tinkering, and writing. She was first published while still in high school in the school's publication, "Jabberwocky". Today, Mimi is making a tumultuous presence both in print and online. But more importantly, her readers and fans love her, and her work. Much is to be appreciated; Jacobs is a master of several literacy genres and the author of seven books including, Embracing Self: Inspiration on the go, Illuminations: Poetic Inspiration, Embracing Candace: Anthology One, My Name is Not Monkey Girl, Chocolate Kisses .

She is also penned How to Jump From a Ferris Wheel & Land on Your Feet, the first of a ten volume series. The book is a multi-author anthology with a theme of, "From tragedy, to triumph."

In March, 2007, Mimi launched her highly-acclaimed publishing company on a shoestring budget, and in a make-shift small office in her living room. The name was contrived as a tribute to her two granddaughters, Candace and Alyse. Her enthusiasm has helped her shape her branding and build a dynamic team around her including an editor, proofreader, illustrator, and full-time publicist. In just one month, Candalyse Publishing more than quintupled in size, and tripled its revenue.

After her twenty-eight-year old brother, his wife and three young daughters were killed in a raging house fire, Miriam nearly gave up, losing all faith in God, yet she used her writing to work through the feelings associated with the tragedies. She also volunteered at local hospital Burn Units to help other families to cope.

Her honest, no non-sense approach to writing about her traumatic life experiences has brought her virtual acclaim through Epinions.com, Myspace.com, Authorsden, and other online sites.

Deep depression, alcoholism, and a downward spiral only motivated her to keep going. After a career working with the public in the USPS she started a second career working with mentally ill adults recovering from drugs and alcohol, assisting them to reenter society.

Mimi is a life-time New Yorker and has the accent to prove it. She currently resides in the beautiful Catskills region with her husband, Charles, her granddaughter, Candace, and their pets.
