In just nine short months, Candalyse Publishing has grown to be exceptionally adaptive. It has gone from a struggling
start-up, to a powerful force in today's literary arena. The company was launched in March, 2007 by Miriam L. Jacobs on a
shoestring budget, and in a make-shift small office in her living room. The name was contrived as a tribute to her two granddaughters,
Candace and Alyse.
The agency now attracts some of the country's brightest and up-and-coming authors. In the last month alone, Candalyse Publishing
has more than quintupled in size, and tripled its revenue. It aims to build upon these benchmarks in 2008.
"Our primary focus is to help our client's literary visions reach fruition; I have a tremendous zeal for helping others succeed,"
Jacobs explained. "As a poet and author, I endured the frustrations, rejections, and obstacles that first-time writers often
encounter. These struggles were the impetus for publishing my own work. From beginning to end, we offer a multitude of quality
services at affordable prices to meet all of your literary needs."
Candalyse Publishing has been so effective that it successfully competes with elite firms such as Lulu Press and other "print
on demand" entities at the systematic level, in personal service, quality, and fees. Authors who have signed with Candalyse
Publishing are now managing their newfound success and launching speaking tours across the country.
However, rapid growth is only part of publishing house's story. Amid the tangible and measurable accomplishments and success,
is perhaps the organization's most significant purpose and why it was established in the first place: to raise funds for several
facial reconstructive surgeries for Jacobs' 8 year-old granddaughter, Candace. The youth was born with a rare skin disorder.
Along the way, Jacobs is promoting tolerance, education, and compassion for those who also have Giant Congenital Nevus.
How has Candalyse Publishing accomplished so much in such a relatively short period of time?
What's apparent is that the organization's audacious optimism supersedes pragmatism. Timeless industry fundamentals such as
brilliant marketing, a well-organized operation and support staff, as well as creative and strategic plans certainly play
a part.
Candalyse Publishing is focused on consistently achieving the greatest impact in the literary world. And the woman
at the helm has been exemplary in bringing it all together. Miriam L. Jacobs has masterfully bridged the divide between service
and astronomical fees associated with her competitors. In doing so, her company still makes a profit, enjoys repeat business,
and gains referrals with every contract.
Ingeniously, Jacobs expands her operation through collaboration rather than competition. Authors everywhere are invited to
promote their books on her agency's website whether they are published with Candalyse Publishing or not.
